The challenge
A great catalogue, hidden behind a quiet website.
Global Hotelware's buyers are chefs, F&B managers and hotel purchasing teams. They know what they need. The website had to help them find it, and tell the sales team who was looking.
- 01
Customers search for products
Buyers look for “mortar” or “tablecloth”, but the site only knew brand names. The products were buried inside PDF catalogues.
- 02
Downloads were anonymous
Catalogues went out every day, and sales had no way to know who was interested in what.
- 03
The platform needed care
WordPress and its plugins were due for updates, a stronger security setup and a dependable home.
- 04
Talking took too many steps
Buyers needed a faster way to reach the team than finding a phone number or an email.
01AI product search
Search that reads the catalogue.
We connected the site to Amazon Bedrock. When a catalogue PDF is uploaded, the AI reads every page, even scanned ones with no text at all, and records the collections, products, codes and materials. Customers now search for what they want, and land on the right brand.
- 01
Upload
The team uploads a catalogue PDF to a brand, as before.
- 02
Read
The server reads every page. Scanned pages go to the AI as images.
- 03
Extract
The AI lists collections, products, codes and materials, using only what's printed.
- 04
Review
The team checks the list in WordPress, edits it and approves.
- 05
Search
Customers find the brand by any approved word, with a note on where it matched.

- 34 pages → 150 products
- The Crush Grind catalogue, read in about one minute.
- 40 scanned pages
- RC Table Linen had no text at all. The AI read the products from the page images.
- Human in the loop
- Every list is approved by the client's team before search uses it.
02Lead capture
Every download, a named lead.
Before a catalogue opens, the visitor confirms their email with a one-time code. No passwords, no sign-up form. It takes about 20 seconds, and the sales team gets a real contact for every download.
- 6-digit code, works once, expires after 10 minutes
- Locked after 5 wrong attempts; new codes are rate-limited
- One check unlocks every catalogue for 7 days
- Emails and download history auto-delete after 90 days

03Sales analytics
Sales knows who's interested. Every week.
Three views of what's happening on the site, each built for the person who needs it.
- Weekly downloads report
- An email to sales listing who downloaded which catalogue in the last 7 days. Warm leads, delivered.
- Monthly brand visits
- A Google Analytics report of visits per brand page, so marketing sees which brands pull interest.
- Traffic overview
- Google Analytics through Site Kit: channels, countries, devices and pages, right in the WordPress dashboard.

04Conversation
One tap to WhatsApp.
A WhatsApp button on every page opens a chat with the team: the app on phones, WhatsApp Web on desktop. It never covers the content, and its label alternates between “Contact us” and “WhatsApp” to catch the eye.

05Platform & security
Faster, safer, looked after.
- Up to date
- WordPress and every plugin updated to current, supported versions.
- Closer to customers
- Moved to a new Amazon Lightsail server in Singapore, near buyers across Asia.
- Firewall
- Wordfence blocks malicious traffic and repeated login attempts before they reach the site.
- Hardened code
- The site's own search and download code was rewritten to handle input safely.
- Backups
- Full-site backups, so everything can be restored if something goes wrong.
- Inbox, not spam
- Codes and reports are sent from the client's own domain, authenticated with SPF, DKIM and DMARC.
Clearer presentation
Brands up front. Every catalogue one click away.
Novelties now show each brand's logo and open the product PDF directly. The catalogues page filters by category or brand, and every download runs through the email check.
